Choosing the right frame for your art print
Black, oak, white or baroque gold — how to choose a frame that lifts the artwork instead of fighting it.
Start with the artwork, not the room
Graphic, high-contrast pieces carry a thin black frame beautifully. Softer, warmer artworks sit better in oak. Photography almost always wins in black or white with a wide mat.
The baroque question
The handmade gold baroque frames from our photos are a statement in themselves. They work when the artwork is bold enough to answer back — and in a minimal room they turn a single print into the focal point of the whole wall.
Mats and glass
- A mat of 4-6 cm gives the artwork room to breathe and makes a small print feel more important.
- Choose anti-reflective glass or acrylic for walls facing a window.
- Keep prints out of direct sunlight — even with pigment inks it is the one thing that ages paper.
Order it framed
Add a frame in the same order and we hand-frame the artwork for you at no extra framing cost. It arrives ready to hang, with the hardware already fitted.
